Sounds like you had fun. When you get "tired" of having him around send em' on up the river and I'll "work" with him some! LOL.
Got to fish with a 70 year old guy yesterday. And man did he teach me a thing or three. He has been fishing Sardis lake for 35 years. And looks like I may get to fish with him on Tuesday and Thursdays. Such bad luck.:D
WE fished with one pole and one jig. And had a ball. So Now I am hooked on jigging the trees.
So now to buy a few new 12ft jigging rods and not let my wife find out:D

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
There aint nothing like daubing in the shallows with a long pole and a jig - it's what ruint me on crappie fishing.

Old men and fish - I used to, in my twenty-somethings, think somehow
the fish just knew you were a geezer like you HAD to be old to catch
fish. Realized later on it's because of experience, and thought if I worked
harder, I might could catch up with them. Not there yet, but making a
little headway - but WAIT - I'm getting OLD too :D Just think, if we lived
to be like, 150, how many fish you could catch, LOL.

I know some retired guy out at the lake that can out fish almost any body. They catch there limits every time they go out. I have watch others, fallow them around the lake,in their boat trying to find their hot spots and try and figure out what they are doing.
I asked and they told me, they were more than willing to share info. But interestingly not to everyone.

well, let's see---- My grandfather taught me what he knew back in the early 50's about fishing with 5' of line on a cane pole with either a minnow or one of his hand made wet flies (jigs had not been introduced to the Miss. Delta yet). He was 58 when he passed away in 1956. That would make him around 107 today. Since I have been practicing what he did since before he passed away, I should have over 100 years of experience under my belt. Is that right?Originally Posted by J White

My best friend(66) & I(67) were scoping out the water level of Beulah Lake,MS..Gale said we had never seen the lake so low and wondered what the "old timers" would say about it....I informed Gale that "we" were the old timers...lol

When I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations I have a good day
Folks in their retirement years know how to enjoy fishing. The 2 best kinds of fishing buddies are folks past the age of 65 and kids. Why is that? I know, but I'd be interested in see what you guys think.
Single pole jigging for crappies is the BEST!!
Good things come to those who bait.
