    Default Ice fishing Shelter

I'm looking for an ice fishing shelter and have no idea what get. I will most likely be fishing alone because none of my friends are dedicated enough to brave the Chicago winter to go fishing through the ice. I'm not even crazy about the idea without some protection from the wind.
I've been looking at shelters and reading reviews, I'm just not sure what to go with.
I'm leaning toward a flip style of shelter but not sure I will get enough use out of it to justify the cost.
What advice can all you wonderful people offer?
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord show you his kindness and have mercy on you.
May the Lord watch over you and give you peace.

I often fish alone and like the flip style. My buddies have bigger ones but they might be hard to put up alone if it was windy.

    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I've got a Frabil hideout, BLACK ice amour fabric really soaks up the sun's heat!
Sled type, easy to pull with gear on top, folds up quick and easy....fishes 2 people.
When fishing, you sit on the sled and fish alongside, shelter covers sled and holes.
It was a joy to fish from......now I moved to KY! As soon as Ky lake freezes over..... LOL!

I have a Clam fish trap Guide 2 man flip over that I like. It’s the sled type and it pulls easy. I bought mine 15 or so years ago.....before they had the quilted thermal fabric most have today.

You can get just a one man flip and if you can go to a bass pro, Cabelas or Dicks they have many on display you can check out.

    Good luck and fish safe

I would go with a flip over one person, Fleet Farm has the Eskimo on sale for $269. Nothing to adjust, you just flip it over and fish.

I ice fish alone meaning in my shelter. I like the flip over style one person. Check the weight on each one as you pile more stuff then you need most times they get real heavy to pull, especially if there is snow on the ice. Good luck many good ones out there.
