Default Best Trolling Motor for Me

Bought a new to me 2005 Tracker PT165 this Fall. It has a Minnkota 24V Maxxum trolling motor on it that works well but I? really want to upgrade to a trolling motor that has Spot Lock. I? don’t need to network with my fish finders, I? just really want the Spot Lock feature.

What is the most cost effective Minnkota model that has Spot Lock?

Terrova 80# I-pilot with Bluetooth. Plenty of guys on here will give you a square deal. Shut-up-and-fish Is one of them. Trouble with the 80# it comes in 45 or 60 inch shaft.

Last year I upgraded to a 24 volt 70 lb thrust MinnKota Powerdrive and am very happy with it.You can get it with the I pilot which has the spot lock and autopilot included with it and it runs over $400 less then the Terrova.I got mine from Brian at BBG Marine and was very happy with the service.

That was the model that I though would be the best fit for me. Thanks for the feedback.

You can't run a foot pedal with the Powerdrive, right?

I believe that you have to take the I-Pilot out and install or wire up the foot pedal, I know you can't use both at the same time like you can on a terrova. that's why I went with the terrova, I keep the pedal in a compartment in case my remote goes dead and I forget to bring another battery. Hey we old folks, I'll be 75 in 2 weeks, do things like that.
