    Default It's been 6 months

6 months since I drilled a hole through the palm of my hand, I just had another check up with the hand surgeon.Other than most of the pain has subsided, there hasn't been any mobility improvement since the surgery.
I'm learning to do a good bit with the limited use,but dang it sure is a process.Im gearing up for some winter trout fishing, and hopefully some icefishing, though I still haven't figured out how I'm going to use my ice auger.
I cannot tie my shoes, and forget about retrying a hook or lure on.I cannot bring my fingers together, they stay wide open like I'm trying to palm a basketball.I can make a weak fist, hopefully I can turn a reel handle with a fish on,but I haven't tried it yet.
Untill the next time, use a vice while operating a drill, and good fishing to everyone.

Prayers for improvement. I've done about everything to injure myself except that.

Girl in a taxidermy class before mine at P.I.T. drilled an all-thread thru her hand working on a turkey leg. The mental image of that is not at all appealing.

Hope you get the use of your hand working again. I could not even imagine not being able to use one of my hands. Don't hesitate on asking someone to help you with the auger. I will imagine they are some that would just love to fish with you. To get to fish or learn some fishing know how knowledge from you. Good luck and I will be looking forward to seeing your winter ice fishing reports and pictures for sure.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Having been hurt ad rehabbed a few times, I truly hope that you recover some of your control to where you can pursue that which you have had taken from you. I don't know what I would do in your position. My prayers for your recovery. One of my injuries caused me to re-invent myself in my way of making a living, no fun at all.

Some times we don't appreciate things until we lose them. I can't imagine the frustration of not being able to use a hand. I am guilty of not using all the safety that I could and at times paid for those mistakes, thankfully not to the extent you have. I hope over time you can regain at least some use of it.
