    Default Minn Kota foot control

I have 2 of the older 50lb power drives that still work. I have 4 of the foot controls that do not have all the functions. Used to order foot controls off ebay but they are scarce and way overpriced now. Minn Kota will not help. Any suggestions on how to clean the old switches or build a homemade one?

I had trouble with a MK this summer. I took it to a local MK factory service center. He said it would cost more to repair than the motor was worth. Completely understandable to me. However, my fishing buddy asked if he could look at it. At a cost of less than $10 he repaired the motor. He is a retired shop foreman of an armature company. An electric motor is an electric motor....according to him. I believe him!

Take the foot pedals apart, wash the in soap and water and git the grit out. This solves a lot of problems with these foot pedals.

I built my own foot pedal several years back and it still works fine on my Crappie Jon. I have the V2 model.

Yes! Those MK foot pedals absolutely suck.
