    Default Help with fish hooks.

Does anyone have Eagle claw aberdeen hooks in 1/0 #2 #4 #6 & #8? I cant find any aberdeen hooks in my local stores so I have to order online. I just have to figure out which size is right. If you have any of those sizes please post it with a ruler in the picture so I can get an idea of how big they are. Thank very much also what is your preferred hook size?

I use size 4 most of the time and they seem to work well,I have also used size 2 and they seemed do alright as well.I know the Bass Pro in Harrisburg Pa. has the Eagle Claws in stock if you get out this way or you can do them online,I like the 202el or 214 el with the extra light wire because you can usually bend them out of a snag.Grizzly jig also sells them in a big box of 1000 and I bought a box like that from them awhile back, they lasted us a few years.

    Only a few years?
Half that amount would last me a lifetime unless I sold jigs.

I've been using gold eagle claw hooks for better part of my 50 years. Walmart usually has them. Down south we usually use 1/0 or 2/0. I know folks up north usually prefer smaller hooks in the #4-#6 range.
