Good looking fish. I am 37 and still looking for my first 2 pounder..........I've caught 200 in a day, but never a 2 pounder.
He barely made it, but he did. It weighed 2 lb 1 oz a couple of hours after it was caught, so I told him it probly weighed 2lb 4 oz when he caught it. So, he is telling everybody that'll listen that he caught a 2.5 pound crappie. He is a true fisherman now, even stretches the truth like me...

Tarheel, having just weighed that fish I can tell you that I have caught very few. People throw around the term "two pounder" like they catch em every day, and it just ain't so. Same thing with 200 lb deer, around here anyway. If they actually weighed some of those deer they would be shocked.

Thats a awesome catch for him.Is it going on the wall or in the skillet??
That is a nice looking young man and a super fish!
You keep him interested in the hawgs and keep being a Dad to be admired.
"Be Ye Fishers of Men" You catch them- He will clean them
HotRodChevy, ya know, I never asked him or thought about getting it mounted. It's too late now, but I can't believe I never even thought of it...I should've.

Yea it will taste great but as the other post will attest 2lbers are not the easiest to come by.Thats all right you got him started young he will be a good enough fisherman to top it!!!!
Congrats on the "2.5" !!! A 3 pounder might be right around the corner.
Then he can get it mounted and start his own thread to tell the story from his view point. (don't spare the details...) Good luck on next trip!
Don't matter if it is two or two and a 1/2. It is a nice fish way to go.
He should be proud of that.
