Im thinking of water proofing this 2x4 and bolting it to the back of my trailer, then using u bolts with pvc for my guides. The pvc will have a 24inch metal rod on it. Your thoughts

I am not sure I follow how you are going to do this. I have used metal conduit and bent it and u bolted it to the trailer and slid a piece of PVC over it and used it as a guide on. I am guessing you are doing something similar and I would think it would work.

If you are already having trouble with the trailer floating up you might want to check on using tubing or some conduit.like mentioned and then just slip pvc over it!
