Yeah, but you went fishing.
Well....I wish I could give a good report but I can't. Put on the water at 8:30 am and it was cold. Had 34 degrees on my truck thermometer. I was the only trailer at Little Platte ramp. Fished some old stand by brush piles on the main lake and did not get one bite. I tried deep and shallow ones and it didn't matter. I finally went into sail boat cove and hit a brush pile close to the boat slips and started to catch some small ones. Started to pitch jigs on the sides of the slips and started to pick up a lot of short fish. When I left there I had 4 keepers and they weren't big ones either. I ran over to the Camp Branch side and hit several more brush piles with no luck. Decided to call it quits around 12:30. On the way in to the ramp I fished the slips closest to the ramp and no bites. Threw the fish back in the lake and headed home with a big piece of humble pie eat on all the way back to St. Joe. Oh....and my trailer was still the only one at the ramp when i went in.
What a difference a year makes. This time last year we were killing them on the same brush piles I fished yesterday. Do you guys think the crappie fishing has been down this year. It sure has been for me. Dave
Yeah, but you went fishing.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
I was at work. Count your blessings.
