    If that is the same croaker as we have up here, and it sure looks like it, you were only 6oz short of matching the world record.

    That is a gooden I have caught a bunch of them golden croaker in my life but that's the biggest I have ever seen they are good eating fish too congrats on a really good one

    i dont think its the same....our its a simillar species but grow mutch bigger then yours....i dont know the name...but i see people call our croaker...white seabass, drumm....in portuguese its a CORVINA

    Congrats on a nice catch nonetheless. It is interesting to see and hear about fishing in other areas of the world... but no doubt... the bottom line is: Fishing is fun for all people everywhere.

    Maybe kin to our Red Fish which is a Drum like the Black Drum. Our Croaker record in Texas is 5.47 pounds.

    Looks like the world record is 3.94 kg (8 lb 11 oz) caught at Chesapeake Bay, Virgina
