    Default An Unexpected Bass!

Went crappie fishing at Grand Bayou last Sunday, caught nothing but dinks. I moved around to several spots and found a pile of logs in 8 ft. of water. I use an ultralite rod and reel w/4 lb test and a small crappie spinnerbait to locate the crappie. Second cast to the logs I had a fish stripping my line out, going under the logs and limbs, just knowing the 4lb would break on me, but after almost 20 minutes I got the fish to the top, and the results are the bass below. She weighed 6lbs, 15&1/2 ounces, just a half ounce less than 7 lbs. She was still losing eggs, so I weighed her and snapped the photo.....then released her to finish her spawn. Made my day!! :D

That is a pretty bass Bill. It would have made my day too, to have gotten her in on 4lb test with a nice fight.
