Default Video. Wrap Dental Floss around hook shank before using a plastic pait

This is a pretty neat idea on using dental floss around the hook shank before using soft plastic baits. I will make a few like this. The first part of the video is a loop know then it shows the "Crappie secret" of using dental floss around the hook shank to stop your soft plastics from slipping down from the hook shank. (Hint: i use the same technique...BUT...I start with a collarless jig before wrapping the hook shank with dental floss and soaking it with Loc Tite instead of superglue. The Loc Tite is waterproof.) You can catch over 45 fish on the lure and the lure does NOT COME AWAY from the jig head.)

Richard Gene! He's a good fisherman. I've watched this video before, but so far, I've been too lazy to make any up like this.

Richard Gene the Fishing Machine. Watched that one when it came out, I look for his new ones each week. Good info and good fun. Thanks to Skip and Stump and others, I now hand tie most everything I use. However, this will work fine, too, for the plastics.

Richard Gene "The fishing machine" He makes great videos, he is a fairly new channel on you tube but growing fast. He seems like a real good guy, everyday joe.
I plan to try the dental floss and crazy glue. Thanks

I wonder, though ... if once this is done to a jighead/plastic grub, and the grub gets "unusable", wouldn't you have to cut the line and start all over again with a new jighead/plastics ??

I say that, because I used to glue (Titelock gel) hollow tubes to the head of my jig ... to keep the "nippers" from yanking the skirt down. Once those "nippers" kept at it, on the glued down tubes, they eventually yanked off all of the skirt and left me with nothing but the hollow body of the tube. I could put another tube on, but I'd first have to take a knife and clean off the dried glue and remains of the tube body. I eventually got tired of doing all that & just started using solid body tubes (& then other solid body plastics), and don't have the problem of getting the skirt yanked down. I usually catch quite a few fish before the plastics won't stay put. And I don't expect that one plastic bait to last forever, which is why I buy them in packs of 10-25

Jigheads are relatively inexpensive and I make my own stinger lures in one inch or two inch size. The only two styles I. Use the Loc Tite only for stingers or the Little Shot lure. Great not to have to worry about Crappies undressing your lures. I use hook snaps so I can quickly change color or size Pappy.
