So, I have a buddy in from Ohio and Iím wanting to get him on some crappie. I have a bunch of spots with crappie on them in about 16-20ft. But, yesterday a front came through and shut them down as we tried yesterday. We tried jigging on top of brush and everything. Would you all use minnows and drop on top of the brush like tip them with a jig? What is the best way to catch them after a front has came through? Water temp is 68-71

When things get tough I usually go smaller and slow down to a crawl.

Minnows are not a bad idea, but after a front they will lock up sometimes. I can get a few to bite when it's like that but it makes for a tuff day. This has happened to me a couple of times lately. I can see them on the SI but can only get a few to bite. Some times if you slow you jig down the will bite or pop it you can get a response but I can never get the school fired up and feeding. I believe I'm a decent angler but these conditions are the hardest for me. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's answers for this one. And skeetbum is correct on down sizing.

If using jigs try something with out as much action, like a Kip Tail jig? For sure if tight line fishing just hold as still as possible and see if that helps as I have seen this lots of time where they wouldn't hit it unless it was still.
