There is a lot of good pike fishing in Northern Michigan. If you are expecting pike like you see in many of the Canadian lakes then you pretty much have to go to Canada. But if you just want good pike action with the opportunity for the occassional trophy there are many lakes throughout Michigan.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Muskegon and White Lakes have great pike populations.
    Darn good ones too.

if your looking for numbers and size then fish the saginaw bay at the hot ponds i fish here every year and catch 40 plus inchers through the winter months in open water.

I would say Muskegon, White Lake, or the Grand River Bayous.
