Default Most Important Tool In Your Tacklebox

SUNSCREEN! The sun can kill you.

I started crappie fishing in the 1940's when I was a kid. There was no trolling motors or "fishfinders" or sun screen. I am now paying a price for not knowing the danger. Don't ever think it can't happen to you.

It is too late for me, but I hope you younger folks use sunscreen and apply it often.

Yep, been through that and lived through it. We never had sunscreen and I grew up around the beach. Burned all my childhood. I am careful now and everyone should take sun exposure serious. Get well and I pray it does not return.

Had it also, 50 stitch from ear down throat to chin. Unnoticeable now as plastic surgeon did a amazing job of stitching. Good luck to u and will be thinking about you.

I have blond hair (born a redhead), green eyes and fair skin. When I fish, I dress accordingly: long pants, long sleeve shirt, sun gloves, hat and buff:

(That's not me in the picture, but he could be my twin as far as fishing clothes go.)

    Very true Canpole.

When I was younger, I didn't pay much attention to getting sun burned... It may take years for the effect to happen, but it ain't no fun when it does.

    Continued prayers for complete healing.

Hope you have a speedy recovery and healing up.
We got sunburned many times in our youth.
I'm blonde hair and fair skin.
Got to use sunscreen or cover it up as l like you have waited too long.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
