    Default Green River

Talked Saturday with a fellow that had been to GRL. Said they found them in 10 ft of water just at the edge of the flats on the lower end of lake. Found that shad was more productive than minnows. Was catching shad with a cast net, putting them on ice, fishing with them dead.

Makes sense ... chart shows oxygen content drops quite a bit at 10ft deep ... lake is still at pool, not really affected by the rain (yet, according to the COE chart). Fish are being caught at about that same depth in Cumberland. We caught ours at Taylorsville in 10fow or less. They may be migrating back into the creeks/shallows, just not in any big hurry just yet. If the weather forecast is close, it'll be like this for another couple of weeks. Maybe we ease into lower water temps, and don't have to wait out any turnover mess.

Went to GL from 11th to 15th, found lots of fish anywhere from 10ft to 15ft. The fish where cruising in 15 to 20ft water at about 10ft and caught most on clear with black flakes tip with crappie nibbles. We get about 2 keepers out of 10 fish, lot o 8.5 inch fish. The fish w caught where in the mouth of about any creek or recess off the main river channel. The water tem ranged from 71 in the morning to 74 in the afternoon. My two girls had a great time catching short fish, they went through over 100 minnows. The fish should move shallow by the end of this week.

Cool !! Glad the girls had a large time !!

And you're right, when they're biting at Green ... you gotta go through a lot of next year's keepers to get a limit of THIS year's keepers. And that's probably how it's going to be at Taylorsville next year, too.
