The wind was howling yesterday and my bud said lets hit the lake , I said bro....its really windy today ,we are going to get beat down and he agreed and we said maybe NEVERMIND and some other day instead of today . So whats one supposed to do when one has to ketch some crappie is the question ?
Go down to the local boat ramp dock maybe on your lunch break ? Of course you step out of the truck and the wind bought blows you over , you amble down the dock as it rocks and think .....hmmmm a 1/32 is likely gunna be very hard to use in this much wind ........but its whats in my pocket ....
got my line broke 3 times by fish out there and one for sure was a big slab that wanted back under the dock ....the other 8 went on some visitors stringer that was rather amazed I was ketchn fish and down the road I went back to my job . No undersized fish there yesterday and pretty fun even in the windy conditions ....cept for the jigs I lost all went well ...
p.s. one bream got in the way as well .....
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales

WTG....good catch
Hey, Ketchn, we have issues with current on our lake that almost dictate a heavier lure or jig. We realize a smaller one, particularly in summer, would probably spawn more bites but we can’t get the lure over our brush piles without heavier tackle. What do you think?

WTG! Good job in that wind. Nice whites.

Good catch in the wind
add a split shot above the jig a ways. will get your jig down to brush but not be too heavy is what I have done. still have the lighter jig floating down.
WTG Outlaw! sometimes it is too windy to be worthwhile on a boat but have had several days this winter and spring where the wind gusts would have blown me in the water but held on to a post and did very well as you didn't have to jig it, heaving dock did the movement. you can't keep a good fisherman down!
