Default Lowrance Help - Dual Frequency

Need some help from one of you technology guys. I have a lowrance 334c that has been on RMA with Lowrance for 2 months now. Because they have no more parts in stock they have offered to replace it with a new Lowrance 339c (technically it is the Lowrance LMS-339C DF iGPS). The only difference I see is that this 339 is a dual frequency. Will that dual frequency hurt me fishing shallow lakes in North Carolina ???

    Thanks for the advice!

The 'narrow' cone is for deep water or salt water. In fresh water, just use the 20 degree cone and you'll be just fine! <*)}}}><

Better yet, ask if they will give you a 522C in its place.

I believe the cone angle for the 200 KHz frequency is 12° for the dual frequency and 20° for the single frequency.

Lowrance replaced my 332 with a 339. They supplied a 200khz transducer instead of the 50/200 and it works great.

So I have the 200 installed right now from the 334. According to the rep I just leave that in place and plug in the 339. Is that how it worked for you?

Yes. But unless they set it for you, you will have to go to the MENU to the tranducer setting and change it from 50/200 to 200.
