Default I fooled a few more last night

I have a busy day planned today so took some time last night to see what was bitin' over on the pond. We have some foliage change here but so far, the colors are very bland, actually rather dull compared to years past. We've had no frost's or real chilly weather to speed things up but here are a couple of shots of the shoreline:

I trolled my 3 favorite lures around last night, never changing them out for different combinations. The grey body/sparkle tail was the favorite early on, with the BG slab slayer in blue/chartruse only getting a couple all night. Green/white accounted for about 60% of the catch, particularly later in the trip as the darkness slipped in.

My total for the evening was 2 bluegill (released), 10 keeper crappie, ranging from 9-12", and 3 throw-back short crappie. I did lose 2 really nice ones, both about 20' from the net, both on the same grey jig head. They would have been 12"+, really nice fish. That tells me it's time to retire that head, it's caught a lot of fish. It's also bent around some from some forceful removals so I guess I got my moneys worth out of it.

Sounds like a great fishing trip. Nice pictures of the fall colors.

This time of year the Crappie fishing just gets better up here. I have found in the past that ite best is around Thanksgiving day, if we are not iced up yet.
Great luck to you and tight lines.
