They are correct assuming you use the aerator they send with it. Mine only lasted like a week, so they are counting on no aerator for very long just the water. Bought a power bubbles aerator and I can comfortably store 4.61 minners per quart.
This is what I currently have for my minnows. I emailed Engel and asked them how many minnows I could put in the cooler so they would have enough oxegen in the water. There reply was 1-Dozen. I thought they may have not understood my question, so I called them. They said 1 minnow per quart of water...LOL I told her I thought they were nuts! So I'm looking for some input from those that have or use these coolers, I have had up 10 Dozen in my 13 Quart. I know water temp , etc matters, looking for an average.

I get a half pound of minnows at a time and don't have any problems keeping them a few days with my 30qt Engel.I plug in a 110 Air Bubbles unit to the cooler at my house, don't seem to lose to many this way.

The key to keeping minnows is a good aerator I have a cerimac diffuser in mine I can put a 1/2 lb in a 13 at no problem 2 lbs last week in a 30 qt find you a good stone that puts out small bubbles the stones that come with most has big bubbles and there not as affective. I haven't lost a dozen minnows since I got the diffuser regardless of outside tempatures.
I put 3/4 pound in mine the evening before I go fishing usually. I keep the water cool with a frozen water bottle or 2 and use a good aerator. Then usually fish all day and don't have any problems. I will pour out some water and add some lake water on long days though.
Yeah, they nuts!! You should be able to hold a pound easy, I do 2 pounds all the time in my 30 quart

Go online to aquatic aeration companies. I bought some back in the 90's . Worked great. I think the company was some where in florida.
Thanks for the info ,appreciate it
