    Default terrova sonar

My 2D sonar from my internal transducer on my terrova is just showing a line across my helix 10 sonar gps screen.
When I switch it over to read from my transom threw my Ethernet it is fine. I replaced a damaged cable from the head to my hummibird which didn't help. That indicates to me that the cable to the transducer is damaged or the transducer is. ( all one piece )
Of course it is about 3 months out of warranty. Its 3 to 4 hundred to replace it. Not worth it to me for 2D. I'm debating on running a external transducer (XTM 9 20 T ). Has anyone else had this problem or replaced with external transducer?

You have di or si in the helix 10, if so definitely run an external ducer to max the money you spent. I did mine in the driveway with minimal tools

I have DI and SI on my dash mounted helix which reads off my transom transducers. On my bow mounted helix I have sonar gps. It reads SI and DI through Ethernet but I like the 2d reading off my terrova when trolling

Move the console unit up front and test the US2 connected directly to it ... to verify if the US2 is defective ...

The internal transducer on the terrova is just OK at most, go with the 920 external for better reception and happiness. $85 +-
