I've read a ton on here about vertical jigging. You guys have taught me so much.
I read where some guys were using a piece of coat-hanger above the jig on their line to shake a jig loose that was hung up. I also read where some of our cajun friends used nails as weights to get into tight brush. Then some us a pinch on weight above their jig to shake a jig loose.
I have a 1 oz. weight on a brass paper clip to knock jigs loose when I need to but I don't want to disturb the brush top if I can keep from it.
If you us a piece of coat hanger or nail, tell need how you tie it on or give me a diagram how you rig it. How long of a piece of hanger is it? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Personally, I go with weedless jigheads. I purchase from Grousefly (his c.com name, I just pm him) and buy his y guard, brush guard, and his slider version to Texas rig. By using a bit of caution, I rarely get hung, and I am not noticing ant deficiencies in hook ups.
