    Default Smithville 9/1 and 9/2


    3 of us fish for 3 hrs north of W bridge Friday afternoon and the bite was tough to say the least. We only managed 10 keepers between us. Probably didn't even catch that many shorts. We just jig fished brush piles.

    Brother and I went out Saturday morning. Put on at 9:00 am and had 30 keepers by 12:00. We caught 10 on minnows and the rest were on jigs. We fished 4 main lake brush piles down by the dam. Nothing big but the fish are starting to put on some weight because they are getting pretty thick. The short bite is starting to slow down, we caught more keepers than shorts. Dave
