Line counters

Can line counters ve attached to spinning reels, or are they just for bait casters

Line counters that attach to the line are generally considered junk and don't work well with lighter lines we use for crappie. Most people use dedicated line counter reels. All I have seen are a bait caster design. No need to cast if you're trolling, if that's your worry.
