Advice Needed!

What are the basic tools needed for tying your own jigs? I do have a vice but what type and size of thread do you need? They talk about waxed and un-waxed thread.The weight of the jig head I will be using is 1/64th oz.

WOW that is a very small jig. Is that the only size you will be tying? You can buy the thread at yout local Wal-Mart. I buy my thread in 3000 yard spools. I always buy the regular thread (Red). Also if you are useing marabou feathers you can get them thru Cabelas. They are high on their prices but the service is great. I always buy the strung marabou. It cost $3.99 per oz. While you are buying the thread go ahead and buy a set of snips. I have found they are the best to trim your feathers and cut the thread.
