Default Fishing on Solar Eclipse Day

I live in TN and the solar eclipse will be coming through near the lakes where I normally Crappie fish. Any thoughts on what the solar eclipse will do to the fishing both prior to and after the eclipse?

No telling what kind of vortex you liable to get sucked into. Fish may attack your boat, zombies may come out. But with all that them fish might turn on and have one of your best trips ever. Hope you go knock em in the head.

Supposedly, and likely from observations from past events, many birds & daytime animals will think night has come and "go to bed". Night time animals may awaken & start their normal routine. They'll all get a shock when the whole thing is over in a matter of minutes.

Now, as to FISH .... .... they may react in the same way, or they could just think it's a heavily cloudy day. The deep drop in air temp won't be felt by them, like the animals & insects (& people) will notice, so it's just going to be the absence of sunlight penetration (darkness) that affects them ... and that will likely be dependent upon the water being in that 70mi wide band of complete eclipse. It'll probably be less obvious outside of that band, but without direct, underwater observation ... it's gonna be awful hard to tell if there's any effect on the fish, at all.

That's just my opinion !! But I do hope those anglers that are out there tomorrow, during that time frame, will take notice & report any changes in behavior that they observe.

I'll have a family who paid dearly to be out there. We'll be pulling cranks in AM but probably boat riding during the eclipse.

I'm hoping every Asian carp in the world jumps up onto the nearest bank during the eclipse. It might stink for a few days but it would be worth it.
