I tried the line but the wind knots are a pain. What reels do you recommend

I use baitcasters with the depth hunter, right now I have a set of diawa linecounters I got in a trade and like them but have not been pleased with the cheaper ones.

Not sure I would call the Shakespeare ATS LC Reels junk, what is to be expected for $26.00??. I got to fish with some more expensive Okumas and I like my Shakespeare's better

I agree, I cast my baits in place a lot and I can't do that with the cheaper reels. I can cast the Diawas out to 75 feet pretty easy with the long rod.

It's what ever your used to I reckon, I can have my lines out very quickly especially with using the trolling weights now. I agree, back when I was flat lining 100% of the time it was a hassle to get the baits back fishing. But if I had my choice I will use cheap LC reels you can't cast over any type of braid any day. This is my opinion, a lot of folks like braid, but I thinks it's JUNK JK to each his own!!

I tried the braid line and it works just had a lot of wind knots and if it gets tangled break out the knife and start cutting. Didn't know if there was an affordable option I've looked at some of the higher dollar reels but that's more than I want to spend considering I need 6. Didn't know if the new okuma reels were worth trying.

I can't even remember using mono, going to braid cut down the losing cranks tremendously, think I have lost 2 all summer and be I could have gone back and picked up one of them.
