I would think it would definitely make you more comfortable. Great idea! Here in East Tn, God has provided us a mister today.
I have a Bimini Top on my boat. While it helps I still get pretty warm even when using it along with a portable fan. I got the bright idea to add a misting system to the top. Lowes has a inexpensive system for less than $20.00. I already had an areator pump that I am going to use
to supply water to the mister. Hang a hose over the side of the boat, turn on the pump and whalla a cool mist of water. The mister is said to lower the air temp by 20 degrees. I doubt it will cool the air down that much, but it should help some.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.
I would use ice water to help get the air temp down maybe a cooler full of ice water

we use a misting system in our kennel. It's WAY cooler there than in the yard.

I read Canepole's post earlier. His cooler should work fine. I just wanted something where I didn't have to fool with ice.

"Hang a hose over the side of the boat" as dirty as the water gets in the lakes I have fished you would need a filter. I think I would just use water from home on second thought.

Most seem to connect to a water hose fitting. How do you connect it to an aerator? Adaptor?

I looked at misters. Our sprinkler system has misters. The thing I considered was that water temp from city water system is real cool. Surface water temp at Ky Lake was over 90 degrees. Seems to me that the mist would be like pee. However, I await your results. Maybe my "seeming" is wrong.
I also have 15 gal roundup sprayer that I was considering for a mister system. I know this would work.

splice the hoses together and seal with silicone.
