guy at work told me about a spot where he was catching them in a very shallow flat about 5ft at the most so i went down there to see and sure enough there was a guy there sitting on the bank with a cooler full of crappie. its time i guess here to go get them. he said they had just quit right befor i got there. i dont know if he was lying or not i throwed a jig for about an hour or so and only caught bass and bream was i doing something wrong you think? he was still there when i left but i didnt see him catching any but wasnt trying to watch either.

THis time of year they move in and out of shallows depending on the wind, sun and temperature. At least in NC you can catch them like crazy for an hour and then nothing the next hour in the shallows right now. Another 2 weeks though and they will be thick in the shallows.
