Default Elite 5 Ti or Helix 5

Looking at these 2 fish finders. Never had side imaging before. I had down imaging Lowrance Hook 4. Nice little unit but it went when I sold my boat. I thought about Garmin 7sv, but I want to be able to save way points beyond the years of that unit.
These 2 are in my budget. I might move up a little down the road but for now I just want an entry level unit.
What do you guys say? Thanks for your advice in advance. This site has helped me greatly. It's the 1st thing I look at every morning. Blessings!!

If I was you I'd get at least a 7 inch. It's hard to see Si on a 5. I have lowerance hds 5 and it gets aggravating looking at the small screen trying to figure out what is what. Just my 2 cents

Thanks Tracker81. Of all the 7 inch units out there, which one would you choose?

Studied all night reading forums and reviews. Think I'll purchase the Garmin Striker 7sv. No contours on map but SI,DI,2D,Chirp and waypoints are enough for me. Black Warrior River is not a huge river anyway. It's totally different than Guntersville or Weiss. Boaters Marine has it for $404.00.
    What do y'all think?

I think I would call Brian @bbgmarine. Usually the best price, and his advice is priceless.

Really like the Helix 7! Would not want a smaller screen, if money will allow. Good Luck! My 2 cents!
