Think I will join ya
Well its that time of year again! Went about two weeks ago and made a decision. I will not go again until it cools down. I love cold weather fishing.I can put on more clothes to stay warm, can't take off enough to stay cool. I do not clean and eat fish. I usually give them to elderly and friends. When I went a couple of weeks ago, the water temperature was 91. Since I fish for fun and to enjoy the outdoors. I will sit in the cool and enjoy a nap or watch and old cowboy flick. I use to go regardless of the temperature. Getting old and follow THE RULE: "If it ain't fun . I don't want to do it". I still love to read post about others and their catches. Keep posting and I will continue to read.....thanks........crappie1133

Got pretty hot for us Saturday. That same thought went through my head.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
We went out Thursday and it was sunny, humid as heck and hit the mid 90's.We had a nice little trip out and caught some but cut it shorter then normal when the heat started really getting to us.
At over 100 here almost everyday and turning 60 soon , you might see and or notice I don't get out quite as much either . I used to timber doodle a lot a few years ago from about 11 to 3 when it was up over a hundred and even if you can find shade it's still HOT .....so don't feel alone on this one brother

Great post and wisdom. When I was younger I could even do 2 or 3 days in row fishing. Nowadays, I need a day of "rest" in-between! Tough getting old. Thank goodness we can still fish though.

I put up my Bimini and also use a big 5' umbrella up front. Looks a little silly but can fish all day if I want here in Tennessee. The worse time of day is in late afternoon because sun is lower than umbrella and still extreme hot but doesn't last long. However, most time I quit when the fish do around noon.
Crappie Time
I go early 5:30 am and try to get off water by 9:00 or 9:30 am before it gets real hot. Skier's and jet skies start at 10:00 am so I am leaving when they start churning up the lake.
Be safe and good luck fishingSnagged again LIKED above postdhaire thanked you for this post
I'm right there with you on waiting to is cools off. It's so hot and muggy here u just about can't breathe after lunch. I told my daughter other night we wouldn't go again until it cooled off. There's nothing like a nap in a cool breeze on the water. Love it
