Thought we would have some activity on our deeper brush piles but only picking up one or two. Water temp 78-80 degrees, little current, slight breeze and occasional wake boarders. Here are the two today.
Where do I go? Yes, we are using minners on jigs.

Wow! Nice crappie. This hot weather will play a lot of tricks on fishermen this time of the year. Never know from one day to the other how the crappie will react to the heat of summer. They suspend most of the time in deep water so don't take for granted they will be in deep water. They will sometimes even be in very shallow water even though the weather is hot. Just saying your sonar will be a big help this time of year for locating crappie in suspended waters. This is also why a lot of people push and pull crankbaits this time of year . They can cover a lot of water and different depths to locate and find crappie. Finding the schools of shad on sonars are also a big help as this is where the crappie main meals come from year round.
Be safe and good luck fishing
The local fish north of you became VERY tricky to ketch here in the last 2 weeks of so ....I imagine you are seeing what we are seeing as well .....fish on the graph/brush but no lips on the jigs in lots of cases .....
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger ....fall is coming soon I hope ...

I'm surprised you're lake is only 80°. Ours is 86-90°, much farther north. Haven't tried for crappie lately. Bass are slow and scattered.
