Those pic's are pretty small to say what I'm looking at but this is a good link:

    http://www.bystore.org/how-fish-finders-work.html

Scroll down, they talk about fish arches.

This link has a ton of info:

Any way to get those pics back up a little larger? Hard to tell what we're looking at there.

    Arrow OK Guys .......

I took the liberty of expanding Drawout's pictures .... now maybe we can get some answers :D

    Here's my take -

15.3ft pic ....... 5ft tall weeds (no surface clutter reading could indicate low sensitivity setting ??)

12.5ft (blurry) pic ...... brush on a drop (still no surface clutter reading, but darker pixelation could represent denser material than weeds ... hence my guess that it's brush)

13.5ft pic ..... brush, ditch (left), and a cloud of baitfish or heavy vegetation (right) ?? (surface clutter & interference blotches may indicate higher sensitivity setting ???) A few scattered straight line marks could be fish ... Fish ID setting turned off ??

Now ... I could be way off, in my interpretations ... not knowing anything about the lake, boat speed, or the unit. It's just guesses, based on what I would think I was seeing, if I were using the unit on my own waters.

What do you, more experienced depth finder users, see ??

    ....... cp
