They have some submersible lights at wally world for 20 bucks

The wife and I are thinking about maybe trying to hit the water one night. I have seen these expensive lights that folks use, but I'm thinking a waterproof flashlight tied upside down under the boat would be just as good. Any body ever used this approach?

Love, what more can I say
It all depends on how much light you need to draw in the baitfish. LED lights ... whether white or green ... will draw much less amperage from a battery than the 12V headlight in styrofoam or the submersible 12V lights (non-LED).
I use some cheap halogen lights I bought at walmart, and got a set I bought off here.I usually sink mine a couple feet deep, but catching is hit or miss.Ive only tried it in the summer, but have heard of people doing it in the fall and having good luck.

Not sure we're you are from in TN but I have 1 you could borrow if you are close. It's called night stalker I think and it's a green light. I live at reelfoot Lake.

Can't help you on your question but...I ordered a green led off eBay for $18 bucks. Pretty small but man is it bright.
I don't go very often at night, but I like to go to a lighted marina. It's usually deeper water, well lit, with lots of boats in slips to fish around.
Diy yourself a couple from green led strips. Google how to do it. About $40 for both if I remember right, and you won't have to share yours with the wife lol. We did it and hang them in front and back so lots of light and room to fish for multiple people

If you can build one yourself, you may as well spend a little more and use Cree LED's in it and can use not near as many and still be a lot brighter than regular LED's! On and Cree are made in the USA and they make the brightest LED lights in the world! I have a light, not cheap mind you, but the guy uses Cree LED's and make one heck of a light!
