14 ft. Southerns pushing cranks

Finally got to put cranks on my new 14ft Southern rods and was very pleased. I always "push" with 2 or 3 ounce weights. Before these I had 14ft Ozark rods that were good rods as well but I will say for the money these Southerns sure performed well. Didn't catch a ton of fish but a few in the pound range and they handled great. These also seem to have much less bend in them when running. Hopefully you can see in the pic....the rod on the far left has a 3oz weight and the other two have 2oz.

For you guys that have the 14t's can you use them with 1/2 to 3/4 oz, caps and Colman style rigs. I would like to get a set that could handle both types of fishing.

Yes did these are the T's....and Boa I use them for both. That's exactly why I have them...didnt want to have 2 sets of rods to deal with. They may not be as sensitive as something like a BGJP but I haven't had a problem. I did paint the tips because I was used to that with my Ozarks.

The Ts will be slightly faster tip than the standard SCR143 but they are still plenty sensitive for the application you mentioned Bo. I've used the Ts with weights from 1/2 oz to 3 oz. If I was going to limit myself to one set of rods, they would be the Ts.

I agree, they work well for me in both applications.
I am needing some 10 footers but don't believe he offers them in the "T" version.

The 122Ts are out now when he can keep them in stock. Next new item will be a 163T. Coming soon.

Southern are great rod's I have a set of regular and set of heavy's. But I also have a set of BnM PST's and bought a set of Capps n Coleman tips that gives me 2 different style rods just by changing tips. Just another option to think about. Bo you come in down for Crankfest???
