Anyone use them?

I bought a couple recently (10ft B&M black widow- and a B&M 12 Duck Commander) with the goal of using them to catch small bluegill for catfish bait. I thought they would be perfect for placing bait right next to weeds to get the small guys.


I liked them so much I bought 3 more. A 14ft skeeter pole, a 20ft black widow, and also got a 13ft black widow with reelseat and guides to try.

I have yet to break them in, but am excited to do so soon!

I have and use the 13' black widows with reel seats coupled with mini buck's reels for spider rigging up here.

I like to dip stumps with them when fish are up in the spring. Lots of fun.

How do you guys rig them?

A few feet looped through the end eyelet is what I planned. Do some have line wound on the keepers and then up through the eyelet- so u can change line amount?

All of mine have reel seats or bands to hold a reel in place. They have a guide at the top of each section. I have a bunch from 8 to 18', mostly 14 and 16 footers.
BnM, Slatter and a few other companies use to offer a guide kit. The rings were different size to slid onto the rod and some had different size guides, but mostly the same.

I use the B&M 10' black widows for spider fishing in the lake I fish. It is a lake with mostly 12' and less water and they work good for me. If the fish are high in the water I use corks and the rest of the time I tight line with them. I land some pretty good crappie and catfish with them and they are pretty tough poles. Here is a picture of some fish I caught this morning using them.

I have several in different lengths,but I use the 13' with eyelets and a reel most of the time.I dap with it in log jambs,and around stumps,I recently caught a 5 lb channelcat while using minnows under a slip bobber for crappie,lots of fun.

I have a 12' and 18' and fish them both regularly. I tie the line (about a foot shorter than the pole) directly to the tip. No reel.

My wife encouraged me to try one we saw at Wally a while back, I declined but may now reconsider.

I use a 10ft Shakespeare Durango almost exclusively. I bought it out of curiosity and it quickly became my favorite.
