Would you share it with the masses ? I mean its dead as a doornail and even the bluegill are not feeding . So you whip out your super sleuth slab slayer bait and get all secretive with your "special" super ketchn set up . And its Memorial day weekend and the place is packed !Then of course IT HAPPENS ! You start ripping lips like a madman in front of a crowd and everyone is like what the heck ? Of course I am sure they don't know me and or didn't until that visit and to be sure it is WAY distracting to have a like 8 or 10 little ones saying hey mister I want to do that to !
Well long story short in between the masses of crappie lips I was piercing , I said here and here and here and here and gave up about 8 jigheads and some of my SUPER bait and deployment techniques .
One little fella beside me was in a real fight for a bit over what ate his and eventually landed about a 2 pound bass and told EVERYONE his fish was bigger than his dads ....
And then the little young lady down on the end who was kinda quiet got her pole all bent down while mom was videoing her first EVER crappie fight .
Now mind ya the bait is readily available in almost every state and county and off the road path for sure and EVEN though its a really SUPER deadly bait at times and my LAST resort presentation, I still feel a bit inclined to not share it with just anyone ....
Instead I opt to share it with EVERYONE ......
small bluegill cut in long strips and hooked just on one end so they wiggle waggle real nice on a super small 1/64 jig head and tossed a far out as possible on 8 to 10 lb test and SLOWLY let fall into known areas fish tend to frequent ....nothing glamorous about the bait or the bite and you almost never know you have a bite until you go to slightly move it and feel pressure .........and YES it was a chore to ketch a bluegill out there with all the stomping and running and hollering and etc etc etc on that there dock (AND since I was having so much trouble with the bluegill I had my other half ketch them for me before she went swimming btw)
to be sure that there is the tip a the week when they don't want to bite
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whalesDave and Lynn thanked you for this post

feed them meat! lol great story man. lots of folks, is that a pay lake?
i sometimes net shad and put chunks of that on my jig for scent. they grab that with gusto! lol
Watched an Asian fella do that with chicken and flat wore out the flounder.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Wow! Thanks for the crappie ketchum tip of the day and for sharing it with those young future fishermen & fisherwomen.
