Default Got Me A Hawg WOW!

Got lucky today. Musta been the lucky hat I was wearing! Yep. No doubt about it.

To start, it was windy day and Brenda was operating the Iphone camera. We now have a large collection of pictures of her pointing finger. ha.

Caught this one in 4 FOW off our dock using my own hand tied jigs. (Sometimes I impress my own self.) This is a hawg in anybodies book, even 'ol Spoonies. The jig used was a 1/16 oz minner head painted black with them 3d eyes, pink body, and chartreuse tail feathers with tinfoil flash added for luck. You just gotta have that luck. Also wanna express another big thanks to the fellers on the jig tying forum. BIG THANKS.

With this same jig, I landed a big bass shortly after landing the crappie.. This bass would easily topped 5 pounds. Fun, fun with lightweight tackle. I had to bring that bass up out of the water about 6 feet so to clear the dock walkway handrail. Just imagine the bend in my lightweight pole with a fish determined to free itself. Mama Mia! I thought the pole was gonna snap. Wow! I still get a thrill landing these big fishes. We released all fishes. Maybe they will come back for another visit.

Needless to say we had a large time. Life is good on the golden pond.=, Ky Lake.

Congrats on some whoppers. Great pics by your cameraman. That crappie is pretty. Hope he comes back with a buddy or two.

Tipped 3 pounds. Good fish for around here. Didn't measure, but the tail and head curled up in a 15 inch floating type wire basket. It big enough to wow my neighbors.

My precious jig now hangs in the halls of the sunken brush. I gotta make some more of them.
