Default My Etec will turn over but won't start

I was heading back to ramp Saturday going 30 mph when my motor just cut off suddenly. It turns over fine and you'd swear it was about to start but won't fire up. I still can tilt/trim and everything else is working fine. Any ideas as to what's going on?

First guess, ignition fuse (always thinking smallest situation first)

After that, it could be anything computer related in which case, knowing someone that has a handheld computer that can diagnose issues would be helpful. I would check the fuses first.

My Merc did that after bringing home from getting rebuilt. When they put the main wiring harness connector together from the computer they had over tightened it and broke the plastic locking devise. I was able to push it back together again and taped it up good to waterproof it. First thing I did was check for spark at the plugs then start trouble shooting the simple things. Circuit breakers, fuses and electrical connecting that could be loose. Remember the KISS method before spending money for something simple. It takes air, compression, and spark to make it run. Forgot you need some fuel to Good luck

If you haven't done it yet, take to shop that works on them and has proper reader. Sounds like EMM went bad. Did some searching and can't really find anything on trouble shooting for the EMM. Serveral reports just like yours where motor was running fine and just shut off. Since every bit of electronics on the motor is contained in that small black box it appears any one of a number of things could knock it out.
