Dark, solid, opaque colors. High contrast color combinations, and I upsize my baits. I don't shy away from 2.5' to 3'. Granted that's here in MS and chocolate milk water isn't at all uncommon.

Well here in central Illinois we've gotten quite a bit of rain in the past couple weeks and it has the lakes filled to the brim and MUDDY!!!! Tried fishing today with no luck. I did manage a couple small ones but no keepers. So my question is how do you guys deal with water that's been turned to chocolate milk from spring rains? I guess there's always yard work

I fish, therefore I am!
Dark colored bodies, scent like nibbles, live bait, and or vibration and flash.
Need to be where the fish are or it won't matter.

where'd ya fish? We went out and dealt with some muddy water and wind...not a very productive day...
My approach is usually to up-size a bit (2 1/2" bulky body plastics are good) and I cast, let the bait hit the bottom, then start a slow retrieve back. Works up here. The CB Slider (2 1/8") "Minnow Grub", with segmented body and paddle tail, is a good example. And I prefer the brighter color combinations, with chartreuse a necessity as part of the color scheme.

Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
I fished lake Taylorville in Christian county and it was getting muddy again. Had no luck with just little dinks. Water temp was between 69-71 in places
I like flo-orange heads with Chartruese or blue bodies with nibbles. Fish slow.
Going to give it another try today. Water might be worse today, but ill let you guys know if these tips helped.
Come to West Texas,we muddy out here 24/7-365
Its not always about the human visual most assume,pink/wht,red/wht,light purple wht all do fine for those throwing the small baits for small fish
Personally . . . . roadrunners heads rule with the underspin blades
