    Default Wind got me today.

Only 8 nice 11 to 12.5" crappies today. About the first 2 hrs this morning also caught maybe 15 dinks, 2 bluegill, and one bass and after that the wind picked up and created 2-3 ft whitecaps as it gusted felt like at least 20 mph. Water temp in the wind nose dived, started out 71-72 and then was finding 69 as the wind whipped the water. I never saw anybody fishing especially with minnows catch anything. I tried tons of colors and even long lined jigs in a dozen different spots only picking up 2 of the keepers. At 2 pm I called it quits as I had enough of the wind. All 8 fish again were females with eggs not ready at all. Crazy weather. Windy again tomorrow.

Before all the rain, fish were shallow. Not many catching good fish in shallows here, mostly dinks. Fish deep and you catch females. I am hitting my shallow spots on Monroe and Lemmon, but nothing much of anything for me. By the way, Patoka has a bass tourney this weekend of 225 boats and so even if the water is still muddy in areas.

My wife and I have fished Lemon several times but from shore and too far into spring or summer. The park area where you can fish from shore doesn't open very early in the year. Our luck hasn't been good but it sure looks like a nice lake.

Other than a week in Mississippi, I haven't even targeted shallow fish. Still catching fish 12' or better just like all winter.

wind got me too. spent 8 hours Tuesday spreading 30 pounds of grass seed and covered it with 6 bales of straw trying to replant my yard. got home yesterday and the wind had blown most of the straw away. guess my neighbors lawns down wind of me will look good this year.
