    Default Batteries for Crankin'

I have a 24 volt 65 lb. thrust minn-kota auto pilot that I use to pull crank baits. I love pulling the cranks with the auto pilot because it is relaxing and productive at the same time. I can get up and move about the boat and not have to worry about turning in a circle and tangling while catching or re-tying or what-ever needs done.

With all that being said I am in need of new batteries and I am open to suggestions from those with knowledge on the subject especially those who troll cranks for extended periods using the electric motor. Let me know what is both good and bad. I am currently using the Duralasts and have gotten about 1.5 years so far but they are dying fast. It now takes as long or longer to charge than I am able to spend fishing.
    Thanks, JayW

Trojan 1275 golf cart batteries if you have room. They have the same footprint as a series 31. I run 3 on my Excel and get up to 9 1/2 hours continuous trolling till mine are ready for recharge.

I just put in a pair of GC12 from Sams .... 155 AH 12V golf cart battery. I'm pretty sure these Duracell batteries are made by Deka in USA. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/durace...prod3870120.ip

No doubt the Trojans are great batteries as well.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the feed back. I am very limited in room in the battery hold. I may have to go the same route as blueball and use two sets of batteries.

Buy them quickly. I got notice there was an across the board price increase of 3% on batteries. I have 2 NAPA stores and Deka is our vendor.

If they are 29s, they are Johnson Controls batteries.
