    Default Arkie Crankbait question

I have been reading a lot on using crank baits for crappie. I was reading the back of an Arkie crank bait package the other day in the store, and it says do not use a snap swivel to tie the crank to the line. But I have read many articles saying to use a snap swivel to change out cranks real fast. What is everyone's opinion?

I'd use a duo-lock snap ... regardless of what the pkg says. But that's just me !!

Like Pappy I use DuoLock snap. Quick change, and allows bait to move more freely. Few company's even use them when they package their baits rather that a split ring.

They probably say that because that is the easiest way to tune how they run. Me personally, I'll use a snap every time

I use a snap swivel on all my crankbaits for one reason---helping prevent line twist. Clients are far from observant lots of times and baits/lines get tangled. I personally think the snap swivels help.

I use a snap for quick changing baits out and don't have a problem. I don't see a problem either with using a snap swivel either. Don't affect the wobble of at crankbait at all.

I use a big #7 snap swivel. Mainly so I can see it. The fish don't seem to mind either. Of course, if the line breaks and I loose the swivel, I tie direct for expediency.
