Almost dark crappie

So I go fishing at 2pm. Big mistake. Floated around and didn't catch fish for 5 hours. That's a long button hurting time in a kayak. I finally found fish on a shaded, wind free dock and cooler enough for supper. It's getting dark and I don't have a light so I start fishing my way back to the ramp. I come to a shallow little bay about 6 feet deep that never had any kind of fish in it and what do I see? Millions (not millions but a lot) of crappie breaching the surface like the dolphins do on Discovery channel sucking down bugs. It was a fishing paradise...till I backlashed both my reels. Know I know where the crappies go at night.
