I know for sure the Shimano IX series do, but that is likely the bulkier side your speaking of. Look for reels that are not instant anti reverse or multi stop anti reverse.
Here’s my situation. I have two Quantum Micro MSC reels and have been unsuccessful finding any more. The reel is different as there are three different settings on the anti-reverse switch. While most reels have ON & OFF the MSC has ON – CTR – OFF. The CTR setting brings the roller of the bail directly under my index finger when I back-reel holding the rod. This lets me back-reel till it stops, and I can pick up the line without looking down at the reel. I have gotten very used to this and am looking for another new micro reel I can buy that has this feature.
Does anyone know of any other reel that does this? I have a few trigger reels that have the same feature, but they tend to be on the bulky side. I don’t have a Bass Pro Shop or Cabela’s close to me where I can peruse a lot of reels to find one and the ads for reels seldom have enough detail to determine if they do or don’t have it.

Would a Shimano Spirex SR1000fg be too big ? Mine has back to center but it's an older 2000 series so maybe the newer 1000 series has it? I really like the line lay on that thing it cast really good and seems to manage line well.
Shimano Spirex, Syncopate and IX lines of spinning reels have the Quickfire II a similar self-centering feature like you're describing Clint.
Thanks - but all the reels listed (after some research) are trigger reels. I have a number of those, but the Quantum I have is centering and is NOT a trigger reel. The MSC is the only centering non-trigger reel I have ever seen. I guess I will just stay with the ones I have and keep searching Ebay (where I found one Quantum MSC - the other I bought new in the late 90's at the original Bass Pro Shop as part of an ultra-light outfit). I did get a new Zebco at Grizzly Jig on which the trigger assembly is smaller and much less obtrusive.

If you can find reels with the quick fire tab like this one, they self center, if Im understanding what you're saying.
