    Default Engel bait cooler

I ordered one these in a 19 quart. I got a question though. If this thing is water tight then it should make it airtight right? If it is air tight then it look to me like it would eventually get pressurized from the aerator and not allow any more air to be pumped in?? That's if the top was not opened for a while that is. Maybe I'm just over thinking things again Engel bait cooler

I know it is okay to leave the lid closed for 12 hours as I've done that. Not sure how long before it needs to be opened

It's not going to be that tight , where the hose goes into the cooler is enough space to let out pressure .

When I am keeping minnows over nite I open the lid to let out the ammonia smell that builds up. I don't know if it makes a difference or not but it makes me feel better.

I leave the lid cracked open when I'm at home. Also I use a 115volt bubbler at home. Everyone complains about the noise the factory pump makes but mine is quieter than several others I own

Ive had minnows from friday to sunday with both latched locked and had no dead minnows. It works good, just wish the aerator lasted more than 6 months. I keep minnows for 4 days on my long weeekends.
