Southern Crappie Rods

Am thinking about purchasing 6 of the Southern Crappie Rods, Model SCR143T, only because it can handle
up to 2oz of weight. Anybody out there using this particular model willing to share your comments or
opinions? Also what kind of reel are you matching these rods up with? If you use less than 1oz of weight
are they sensitive enough to show the bite, or are they too stiff? Any help is appreciated!! Thanx guys!!

I know I love my 163's, MrDux did a test on the 143t's comparing them to PST's. I've been able to find it in the search feature on here. Everything I've read about them was good

I have 8 of the 143T as well as 2 of the 122T and love them. I push cranks with them, pull cranks with them, power troll,spider rig, whatever. They are tough as nails. I started to say tough as kevlar but that's what they are made with.

I use Shakespeare Agility thumb bar reels when I'm pushing/power trolling and use Okuma Magda 15s when pulling cranks. We've used them with 3/4 oz weights spider rigging and yes they art stiffer than a standard 143 rod but still sensitive enough to see a light bite.

I have 4 of them. Use them to pull crankbaits, and spider rig. They work great. I recommend them, and Ed Duke is good man to deal with, though you can order from his website without talking to him. I also push cranks using a 3 oz weight.

Got 14 southern Crappie rods. Best rods I've ever owned! Swing 14 inch Crappie in with no trouble. Spider rig and pull cranks with them!

You will not be disappointed. I use mine to pull crankbaits and really like them. They would also be good for spider rigging.

Got my 14 footer hung in my ceiling fan while rigging up one night... didn't break it! Love mine to spider rig and pull cranks and jigs with.
