Battery charger?

Just put 2 new batteries in my boat and looking for a new charger since my hand me down finally crapped out. I got to looking last night and it seems there are all types to choose from. What are some good ones?

Check out the noco on amazon. It's 4 amps per bank and works great. I'm impressed so far. The minkota is 10'amps total for around 12 bucks more. A lot of mixed reviews on it though and a lot less

While I had my Crestliner for 5 seasons, I used the "Stay N' Charge" system. Never had a problem. Very effective unless you dock your boat. This system is mainly for trailering. Once you initially hook it up, never anything more to do. It'll charge your batteries on the way to and the way from your destination. When I sold the boat, the original batteries were still installed. The new owner told me he loved it as well. JMO.

Currently using a Minn-Kota 220 onboard charger (2banks - 10amp/bank) ... but if I were to buy something new, it would be a Minn-Kota 220D (2banks - 10amp/bank - digital).

What you buy, and what it can be used on, depends on the types of batteries you have.

I've been running the Minn Kota 330 for many years without any problems.

ProMariner Pro Sport 20plus. It is a three bank "Fully Distributed" battery charger that will charge AGM, standard lead acid, and GEL batteries.

Fully distributed means that, when one battery is charged, it will take the amps pushed to that bank and distribute them across the other two banks. When the next is charged, it will push the remaining amps over to the last battery. It is a 20 amp charger.

Look for a "fully distributed" model. BP and Cabelas models are both made by ProMariner. They just have a different case and have been more prone to leaking.

I have a Pro Mariner 2 bank charger for about 5 years.
The only issue has been some corrosion on the in line fuse leads.
A call to them got me replacement parts and new fuses for all of them.
