They were just playin' "hard to get" .... they do that sometimes !!!
everyone of them ran away from me today
I fished Taylorsville Friday. Caught enough for a fish and biscuit. Not enough for a sandwich.

The first two weeks of this month Taylorsville Lake went up ~9ft and back down ~9ft ... from Winter Pool. Winter Pool is only 2ft below Summer Pool, so the water got about 7ft over Summer Pool, which would have put it up into the tree line. That quick rise & fall takes awhile to settle out ... and now that it has, we're in the period of rain & storms that can start the process all over again. That creates a situation where the fish are moving in, then moving out, and constantly being interrupted in their pre-spawn ritual. Not exactly the easiest time to pattern the fish.
But, take heart ... even though you may experience days like this, again, when the "run" starts in earnest ... the quality of fish you catch should make up for it. Taylorsville has been producing more 12-15" fish in the last two years, than I've seen (or caught) since I've fished it, which has been since it was impounded.
