    Default YUM Beavertails

Just bought some 1.5". How do you fish these things? Do they work good for tightlining, dock shooting, trolling, flipping, black crappie? Thanks CF

Do you use plastic or hair jigs normally when you fish?
Good things come to those who bait.

All of the above crappiefarmer! I use beavertails and the wooly curl tail all the time and they work for everything you listed! Fish love um, white and black crappie. I fish them deep, shallow, around trees in docks and over brush for much success. I prefer the black/pink, black/chartreuse and the green/chartreuse on my lake all in the 1.5" size.

Hey there crappiefarmer, Just fish 'em the same way you would use a tube jig. They have a scent that crappie really like and they hold on to real well. They also displace more water with the paddle tail creating more vibrations in the water. I will always use the 2" but I have bought some 1.5" to put on my regular jig heads.
If you try the 2" pinch the nose off back to the first rib. Also the only jigheads that I use for the 2" are those made by Crappie Pro. 1/8 oz. and 3/16 oz. Chart. or Red. A dab of Super Glue really helps keep the 2" from being pulled down the hook by short strikers also.
